What makes some work environments so special? Some components can easily be quantified and measured, but others are more qualitative like their culture. Each company has its own distinct culture that comes with its own set of behaviors and practices. When creating the culture of an organization, it requires dedicated time, effort, thought, and a lot of input from employees.
As company’s culture brings its beliefs to life it becomes the identity they present to both their employees as well as their clients. Therefore, cultivating a great culture is a critical component of any business. At Biotechnical Services, Inc. (BTS), our values also define our culture, and we’d like to share why we feel our beliefs are vital to our success and happiness as an organization.
The BTS Difference
BTS is a sales and service company for the life science industry, and we have been in business since 1989. We sell and maintain a wide variety of laboratory equipment and specialize in calibration, repair, validation, and maintenance to keep our clients lab equipment on-line. Through the products and services that we offer, we want to enable scientists and researchers to keep doing what they do best, without them having to worry about their lab equipment functioning properly.
To help ensure that we provide consistently excellent service for our clients, we invest in our people, appreciate them, and recognize their hard work. We are proud that our factory-trained and qualified engineers have an average of 20 years of experience servicing lab equipment. With our expertise and dedication, we are committed to providing reliable, dedicated service to our clients whenever they need us.
One of our engineers had this to say about his experience while working for BTS; “Because of the opportunities BTS has given me, I have been able to expand my experience and my capabilities. I also enjoy building relationships with my clients and giving them confidence that I’ll get their job done right. I think it’s great for our clients that they have the same engineer show up for their calls, and that we work on all brands”. Torre Gifford BTS Engineer
Danny Audeoud, another BTS engineer said; “BTS provides our clients with personalized service that can’t be matched, and we have the technical abilities to meet their needs. I am happy working at BTS because they provide versatility, have good communication, and realize the importance of retaining good employees”.
One Call, One Service, One Cost
At times, laboratory facilities have had to call service companies multiple times for help with their equipment. Then, the engineer finally shows up and says they need to order a part that won’t be in for weeks. This lack of prompt service can be very frustrating as their equipment is their livelihood. Scientists and researchers can’t afford for their machines to be down for an extended period of time.
In contrast our goal at BTS is to provide our clients with a 100% first-time repair rate. Our One Call, One Service, One Cost philosophy means that our clients only need to make one call or send one email if they have an issue. Then, when our engineer comes, they fix their problem correctly the first time. We know our clients rely on us, and we take that responsibility seriously.
At BTS, our culture revolves around providing ongoing quality service to support sustainable advancements in biotechnology. We have built our success through the long-term relationships we have established with our clients. We have been servicing some of our clients for over 25 years! These customers have a choice, and they continue to trust and choose BTS. For service call us today at 800-274-0287 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.

When using a high speed centrifuge you notice that you are occasionally losing sample volume. Depending on the rotor you are using double check for the presence of or absence of the required lid O-rings. If they are present make sure they aren’t twisted or cracked, if so replace them. If they are still intact but dry then remove them and apply a very thin film of silicone vacuum grease and reinstall then without rolling them into place. Hold, stretch and snap gently into place. This will ensure a complete vacuum seal and prevent sample loss.
